January Challenge- 64 million artists
A month of creativity to start 2023 well. We’re big fans.
Practising reflection
The twelve days of Christmas (25 December to 5 January) were a time of feasting, celebration and a ‘time out of time’ between the old year and the new. A time to slow down, reflect and plan. If the idea appeals here are some tools to get started with or restart your reflective practice.
Accenture Life Trends 2023: Control and power
A continued focus on adapting to uncertainty. The report has a business focus but prompts some interesting questions.
This year’s report is rooted in life centricity and examines the ways in which people are adapting their lives and making use of emerging technology to meet their changing needs.
Christmas through time
The Museum of the Home in Hoxton, East London has reworked its Rooms Through Time and decorated them for Christmas as part of its Winter Festival. It’s a delight.
What is not machine-like
Our relationship with the machine is something of particular interest to Dawn, so this piece from Austin Kleon caught her eye. It seems a good time to embrace the entreaty:
Rejoice in Humanness.
Jacqueline Svaren.
Word of the Year 2022
A fascinating collection from Merriam-Webster that captures some of the key themes of the year.
In this age of misinformation—of “fake news,” conspiracy theories, Twitter trolls, and deepfakes—gaslighting has emerged as a word for our time.

Dawn is besotted, inspired and entranced by this powerful exhibition. It’s well worth a visit if you can.
