Blob Opera
This wonderful experiment from Google Arts and Culture lets you conduct your own four voice choir of multi coloured blob people. It also comes with Christmas carols for extra joy.
Whilst you are there do try out some of the other experiments – guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
The creative potential of unessays
I had not heard of unessays before and the creativity of this collection from Lewis Borck’s archaeology students just opened up a whole world of new possibilities for me. Do read the whole thread.
#WOMENSART
This has been my number one twitter feed (apart from Dawn’s of course) for 2020. I have found it inspirational, educational, and just plain joy inducing.
64 million artists
If like me you find the dark winter months are a bit of a struggle the January Challenge with 64 Million Artists might be for you. Given the added difficulties of living through the pandemic 64m offers the chance to experiment, collaborate and play.
Making for Change
Making for Change is Craftspace’s project for young people that investigates positive social change through combining craft with activism (craftivism). Young people come together to learn, explore, discuss, and make; creating campaigns around issues that are important to them in order to generate a change in themselves and their community.
A great series of projects and blogs, and although the main focus is young people there are some good ideas for everyone to try.
#teamLab
When I want a moment of wonder, distraction, or contemplation the teamLab site is somewhere I wander off to. Sadly, I haven’t been able to get to Shanghai yet but on a large monitor with the lights off in the room I can imagine being immersed in the works.
